Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, along with five other players, will not return to Pakistan immediately after the team's early exit from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Following the team's failure to reach the Super 8 stage, Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan will stay in the USA for a few more days. The rest of the team is set to depart from Miami on Monday night and will arrive in Pakistan early on June 19, with layovers in Dubai.
Head coach Gary Kirsten will also be leaving for home after completing his World Cup assignment. Mohammad Amir plans to stay in the USA for a couple of days before joining Derbyshire in England. Babar Azam is scheduled to return to Pakistan on June 22.
The team's early return comes after losing two crucial first-round matches, including a surprising defeat to the USA and a narrow loss to India. Despite wins against Canada and Ireland, these were not enough to advance in the tournament.
