New Zealand bowler Lockie Ferguson has made history in the T20 World Cup by becoming the first bowler to deliver four maiden overs in a single match. This remarkable feat occurred during the match against Papua New Guinea, where Ferguson bowled four overs without conceding a single run and took three wickets.
Ferguson is only the second bowler in T20 internationals to achieve this milestone. The first was Canada’s Saad Bin Zafar, who bowled four maiden overs against Panama during the 2021 qualifiers. Overall, this is only the third instance in the 21-year history of T20 cricket where a bowler has bowled four maiden overs in a match. The third instance occurred in India's domestic Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021, where Akshay Karnewar accomplished this feat.
