Speaking to Geo News in London, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan shared an anecdote from his past, saying that when he was the captain of a school team in London, the late father of Aaqib Javed brought Aaqib to him and requested a trial. Khan took the trial and included Aaqib in the school team.
Regarding living with former national team fast bowler Waqar Younis in London, Khan revealed that Imran Khan had asked Waqar Younis, Aaqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Saeed Anwar to try out for various teams. During their trial period, these players stayed with him until they received their contracts.
He added that Waqar Younis stayed with him for three and a half months before securing a contract with Surrey County and moving to his own flat.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan mentioned that all the players are like brothers to him and used to practice with him. He recently met Mushtaq Ahmed during his visit to Pakistan but has not been in touch with Waqar Younis due to his busy schedule.
When asked about coaching the Pakistani team, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan commented that he has been hearing for a long time about the team having multiple coaches. He stated that only one good coach is necessary who knows how to manage the players. He emphasized that he would be the sole coach and would not need a bowling coach, batting coach, or fielding coach. He concluded by saying that he is available for the team and that they would only need to pay one coach's salary.
