Following India's victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20 Internationals. During the post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma revealed his decision to retire from T20 Internationals, stating that winning the World Cup was the perfect moment to bid farewell to this format. He expressed his intention to continue playing ODIs and Test matches.

Rohit Sharma's T20I career has been illustrious. He represented India in 159 T20 Internationals, scoring a record 4231 runs at an average of 32.05. His career includes five centuries, making him one of the most successful batsmen in T20I history. Additionally, Sharma holds the record for the most sixes in T20 Internationals, with 205 maximums.
